I think a "Memento Mori" tattoo would make more sense to an atheist. Maybe I will get one someday.

Hello all,

There are a couple of tattoo's that I'm planning on getting.

I haven't really decided how I want them designed yet.

The first one I'm planning to get is a quote by Douglas Adams. Don't know if I just want to go small, with a nice script on my inner wrist, or if I want to include some sort of imagery with it.

It'd be more than just an atheist tattoo, but it's a really beautiful quote that just says so much about appreciating what you are given. Thanks to Dawkins for putting this quote at the beginning of The God Delusion, or else I wouldn't have had this great idea. It also helps that me and my fiance are huge fans of Adam's Hitchhiker Guide (anybody else go see the movie with you towel?).

And the other idea I really like, is torn from a page in Darwin's journal. Just very simple, in his own handwritting, "I think". Considering adding a tree to it or something.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the symbols, except maybe for the pink unicorn or the baphomet that someone was talking about. I'm getting my second tattoo in october and it is a simple but powerful quote by Robert Ingersoll: "The hands that help are better far than lips that pray".
I thinking about placing it on my chest and it will look something like this:

Tell me what you think.

If I would go for a tattoo, I would choose the Illuminati symbol which is symmetric and is given in the Dan's Brown book "Angels and Demons".

You can check it in the center of this image.

Also an interesting idea.
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

I came upon this thread while looking for an atheist tattoo myself. I did a lot of thinking, and realized that the best thing would be for me to make my own. SO here it is. I plan on getting it tattoo'ed on my wrist as soon as I can afford it. Please feel free to use it also, just don't sell it to someone else to use - It's free! Support Atheism!

I agree completely.

I thought I was the only one. :toast:

Got it at Darwin City Tattoos, in Darwin, Australia.
The artist is Blue aka Mat Selwyn.
